Alcopa Auction offers you the option to buy a used car in an auction centre without being physically present at the auction. Indeed, you can instruct Alcopa Auction to issue an absentee bid for the used vehicle of your choice on your behalf during the auction. This is possible in each of our 5 auction centres (Beauvais, Rennes, Nancy, Tours and Lyon).
Consequently, as the vehicle passes, the auctioneer will place your bids on your behalf. Taking into account the maximum amount that you have quoted (the auctioneer is the only person aware of the amount), he will place the bids in competition with those placed in the auction room.
Example: Your absentee bid is €5000 incl. of tax and the opening bid is €4500 incl. of tax. If the best offer in the room stops at €4600, the auctioneer will bid up for you at €4700 and the vehicle is sold to you. Given that it is a physical sale, the buyer's premium must then be added to the hammer price. This premium is 11% excl. of tax, i.e. 13.20% incl. of tax (with a minimum of €360 incl. of tax, i.e. €300 excl. of tax) + €125 incl. of tax for private individuals.
The 3-stage process for issuing an absentee order is as follows:
1. Creation of an account on our website: Create an Account.
2. Once the account has been validated, you can browse the vehicles(s) on the online catalogue and make your selection up to 2 hours before the auction.
View the online catalogue by auction centre:
3. For each vehicle which interests you, just click "Place an absentee bid" by entering the maximum amount (excluding costs).
It only remains for you to accept the terms and conditions of sale and click "Save the order". You will be asked to confirm your personal information, modify it if necessary, and validate.
You will then be asked to check your purchase one last time and click "Confirm" before proceeding with the payment. You will be asked to pay a fixed fee of €600 per vehicle selected when the card imprint of your bank card is taken. This bank card imprint does not constitute a payment and your bank account will not be debited during this transaction. If your bid wins the auction, the sum of €600 per vehicle obtained will then be debited, in the form of a deposit, and the outstanding balance of the auction note (equivalent to an invoice) must be settled before the collection or delivery of the vehicle. If your bid is lower than the winning bid and you do not win the vehicle, no transaction will be recorded.
Good to Know
An absentee bid can only be cancelled or modified up to 2 hours before the auction.
Your absentee bid is the maximum winning amount that you are prepared to pay. If the vehicle is sold at a lower price, this is the price that will be applied for the payment.
